DETONATION...
Ground
Zero quickly becomes known as a force to be reckoned with; exploding on stage
with a vicious assault, by a tandem of soul crunching guitars, menacing bass,
bone-pulverizing percussion, and raw, powerful vocals.
The band’s fan base grows larger and larger as those who witness the
phenomenon of Ground Zero live fall prey to front-man Ken Dugan’s demonic energy
and the furious, frenetic onslaught of GZ’s own brand of metal mayhem.
“Our show is 100% power, we’re
loud and that helps drive the point across,” states Rob.
In 1996 the band releases its first EP, The Way Down.
Ken,
Kevin, Kris, and Rob hone their musical sound and compose tight, technical
songs that are increasingly intricate and brutal.
“The focus of this band has always
been on songwriting. People want
to hear well-crafted songs,"
says Kevin. A second EP, Drop
the Hammer, is released in 1998.
THE FALLOUT SPREADS...
“Like
militant renegades, we come in, kick your ass, and leave you to recover from the
chaos,” warns Kris. In 2001,
Ground Zero releases a single entitled Crush, Kill, Destroy, and a live
CD, Ground Zero Live at the Bottom Line.
NEXT VICTIMS...
The
world at large. An unbroken
brotherhood, the four original members of Ground Zero are currently working on a
full-length CD tentatively titled, Download Your Destruction.
“We are ready for the next step,” says Ken, “This band does not recoil from hard work or adversity.
We will continue to build and improve on the success we’ve already
experienced until everyone submits to our domination.”
